The Berkeley City Council, creator of Berkeley’s Health Innovation Zone, has launched the pilot house for its Step Up Supportive Program Housing inititative. Aloe Care Health is a proud participant by invitation from Berkeley City Council Member Ben Bartlett.
Step Up integrates cutting-edge technology with uncompromising, person -centered care in its homes. Homeless or very low-income people will be able to transition into Step Up’s innovative new housing, seek jobs or education, reunify with family, and attain stabilizing social networks.
We are proud to announce that Aloe Care Health brings fall prevention and detection, emergency response, environmental monitoring, and sleep tracking into the pilot home through its devices, the Smart Hub 2, Mobile Companion 2, and its integrated Sleep Tracking Mat from Withings. Aloe Care was selected as one of the leading-edge technology companies showcased in the pilot Step Up home, which opened on Friday, June 13th, 2025.

The Smart Hub, giving residents voice-activated access to professional emergency response whenever they are in the home. It also features built-in motion, temperature and air quality sensors to ensure safe environmental conditions.
