Nearly 1/2 Of Americans 70+ Say They May Be Alone This Holiday Season
For many of us, the 2020 holiday season will certainly look a lot different than past years. In fact, we recently learned that nearly half of Americans ages 70+ expect to either be alone or have no plans, just a few short weeks away from Thanksgiving. We commissioned this Harris Poll to learn more about what older adults are planning to do for the holidays this year. The results are jarring. Nearly a third don’t plan to see family, and one-in-five still have no definitive plans. In findings that likely extend well beyond the holidays, nearly half shared that they want daily communication with family. A full two-thirds of respondents wish there was a simpler technology solution to speak with family members. For many, this can be the loneliest time of year, so staying connected is more important than ever. Aloe Care’s solution, recently selected as PCMag's Editor's Choice, is here to help:
For older adults, it’s as low-tech as it gets - no smartphone to maintain, no tricky video conferencing solution. They can push a button to talk to family over our Smart Hub (which serves as a crystal-clear speakerphone). And if they require medical attention, they need only to repeat the word “Emergency” to be connected to a professional emergency responder.
For people in the elders’ Circle of Care, the companion Aloe Care Family App is a really advanced way to keep elders safer and get at-a-glance peace of mind. It’s an even easier way to check-in. After just one tap of a button on the app, your conversation can begin.
Bottom line? We’re here for you if you’d like to give us a try. Whether it is through Aloe Care or if you’ve found another way that works for you, we just hope you are able to stay connected, safe, and -- at the very least -- together in spirit.
